Episode 1: Genesis

In recent days, a seemingly random group of individuals has emerged with what can only be described as , special, abilities. Although unaware of it now, these individuals will not only save the world, but change it forever. This transformation from ordinary to extraordinary will not occur overnight. Every story has a beginning. Volume one of their epic tale begins here,
With a total eclipse making its way across the globe, a professor, Mohinder Suresh, learns of his father's death. Upon hearing the news, Mohinder travels to New York where he begins to uncover a secret theory involving eight individuals, all different ages and all from different backgrounds, who discover that they each have been granted unique super powers. A young male nurse tries to convince his brother that he can fly; a struggling, single mother discovers she can be in two places at once; a high school cheerleader tests her indestructibility; a drug-addicted artist paints events before they happen; and a Japanese man begins to develop his ability to stop time. Though all these heroes live in different parts of the globe and have unique abilities, they all have one thing in common -- their destiny is to save the world.
Episode 2: Don't Look Back

Hiro travels to New York while Peter and Nathan talk about Peter's fall. Claire's ability is at risk to be revealed to the entire school when she finds that the tape of her injury attempt is missing. Niki finds the dead thugs in her garage, but has no memory of the incident, leading her to think that she's going crazy. Meanwhile, policeman Matt Parkman realizes he can hear people's thoughts.
Episode 3: One Giant Leap

Nathan uses Peter's fall for his own personal gain during the election campaign. Hiro tries to find a way to convince Ando that their destiny is to save the world. Claire struggles with having a social life after her relationship with the quarterback takes a dark turn involving her abilities. Meanwhile, Niki follows a voice into the desert and Matt and Suresh each hunt for Sylar.
Episode 4: Collision.

Suresh is able to pin-point the location of one of his father's genetically advanced beings. In Las Vegas, Hiro and Ando use Hiro's abilities to take advantage of the casino, but their seemingly foolproof plan backfires. Meanwhile, as Peter reaches out to another hero in order to learn more about their destiny, Claire's abilities are put to the limit after the bonfire. Elsewhere, one of Issac's paintings reveals that Claire's future may be in danger and Matt has a run-in with two mysterious men.
Episode 5: Hiros
Air Date: Oct 23, 2006
After losing another chunk of time, Niki finds the police at her home looking for D.L. Hawkins, her husband who escaped from prison. As Claire confesses her abilities to her father, Hiro and Ando run into trouble in Las Vegas. Peter receives message from an unlikely source. Meanwhile, Matt uses his mind-reading gift to please his wife; and Suresh makes plans to return to India to put his father's remains to rest and discontinue his research.
Episode 6: Better Halves

Hiro and Ando begin their journey to New York, but don't get far before a Vegas high-roller makes them an offer they can't refuse. HRG sets up a meeting between Claire and her biological parents, and Claire hopes that she'll get some answers as to where her ability comes from. Meanwhile, Isaac is called again by Hiro, but Peter answers and relays a life-saving message.
Episode 7: Nothing To Hide

Niki reveals her troubles to a friend after a crisis with Micah arises. Matt is forced to put aside his marital issues for the time being while he helps Audrey with another bizarre murder investigation. When Hiro is unable to act like a hero when faced with a dangerous situation, he begins to question his destiny. Meanwhile, Claire learns where her missing tape is and Mr. Bennett is delivered disturbing news.
Episode 8: Seven Minutes To Midnight

In India mourning his father's death, Suresh has mysterious dreams about his past that cause him to question what his next move will be. On their way to New York, Hiro and Ando stop at a diner and have an encounter with another hero. In Texas, Claire focuses on Homecoming, unaware of the danger that lies ahead. Meanwhile, H.R.G. and his associate work to locate another hero.
Episode 9: Homecoming.

H.R.G. goes to all means possible to protect his daughter as Claire's Homecoming turns into a life-threatening event. Nathan and Simone race to find Isaac's painting for Peter, but it reveals the tragedy that lies ahead. Meanwhile, Hiro travels back in time to fix an upsetting event; Micah spends time with his father, D.L.; and Suresh, still in India, learns about a boy who would get him back into his research.
Episode 10: Six Months Ago

The clock is turned back to six months earlier. During this time, Chandra, Mohinder's father, arrives in New York to begin his search for genetically advanced human beings and meets a young man eager to be special. Peter graduates from nursing school, but is upset by Nathan when he learns his brother's intent to prosecute a case that will cause trouble for the Petrelli family. Niki's father drops by for a surprise visit, which brings out the worst in her. Claire tries out for the cheerleading squad and makes a surprising discovery about herself while H.R.G. and the Haitian meet someone special.
Episode 11: Fallout.

The tragedy in Texas has devastating results for some of the heroes and their loved ones. Meanwhile, more about the nuclear bombing of New York is revealed and the newest of Isaac's paintings paints a picture of a hero's crisis. Elsewhere, Matt and Audrey have a break through in Sylar's case.
Episode 12: Godsend

Two weeks following the latest events, Nathan turns to Simone to help a comatose Peter. Isaac's painting of Hiro and the T-Rex sends Hiro and Ando on a quest to find the samurai sword featured in the painting. Suresh tries to share the list to each person with abilities and the threat that comes with them. Meanwhile, Claire struggles with her decision following the choices given to her by the Haitian and Niki turns herself in. Later, another hero makes its debut.
Episode 13: The Fix

While being chased during his search for the sword, Hiro has an encounter with his father. Now sober, Isaac sets out to save New York from disaster. Meanwhile, D.L. adjusts to his family duties; Matt opens up about himself to Janice; H.R.G. focuses his attention on Sylar; Claire escapes from the Haitian and sets out to find her birth parents; and Suresh has a visitor.
Episode 14: Distractions

Hiro works to make his father and sister understand his destiny. Niki has an opportunity to be reunited with D.L. and Micah. Claude works with Peter to perfect his ability, but his training could damage his faith in the people he cares about the most. Meanwhile, Sylar makes a move on H.R.G. and his family.
Episode 15: Run!

The truth behind who Claire's real father is revealed as Claire's adoptive mother faces a crisis. Matt agrees to work as a bodyguard for an attorney, which puts him closer to Linderman's assassin. Hiro and Ando return to Las Vegas to retrieve the sword. Meanwhile, Simone turns to an unlikely person for help in finding Peter.
Episode 16: Unexpected

Peter learns of the betrayal that he and Claude were faced with. Matt's world crashes with Ted Sprague, a radioactive man, and Hana Gitelman, a woman with extraordinary mental abilities. Meanwhile, Claire is unable to control her anger at her biological father.
Episode 17: Company Man

Matt and Ted arrive in Texas to demand answers from H.R.G. In the process, they take H.R.G, his wife, son and Claire hostage, which results in an explosive ending. Closely guarded secrets concerning H.R.G. and his company's mission are exposed as new heroes are revealed.
Episode 18: Parasite

With the election rapidly approaching, Nathan has a meeting with Linderman who convinces Nathan that New York has to face destruction in order for him to rise to power. Suresh makes a breakthrough, but it comes at a cost. Isaac paints his most disturbing painting yet and a new hero makes her debut.

Peter is nearly killed during a battle with Sylar and it's up to Claire to save his life. As another hero is lost to Sylar, H.R.G. helps Matt and Ted escape. Meanwhile, Claire meets her biological grandmother.
Episode 20: Five Years Gone

The clock is set ahead five years where Hiro and Ando see what has become of the heroes after the destruction of New York. Following the explosion, those with abilities are forced to register themselves, while some are being hunted, imprisoned and killed. The President takes the steps necessary towards a final solution while Hiro and Ando get caught up in a final battle. Now that they've seen the future, can they change it?
Episode 21: The Hard Part

Now knowing what the future holds, Hiro and Ando's knowledge and dedication are put to the test. Committed to winning the election as per his discussion with Lindermann, Nathan uses a surprising hero to guarantee a win. Meanwhile, after taking another life, Sylar visits his mother.
Episode 22: Landslide

Now on the path to great power, Nathan begins to consider the lives of those he loves. As Hiro prepares to fight Sylar, Hiro's father reveals his lineage. Many of the heroes begin to arrive in New York City as Peter and Ted attempt to flee before the explosion. Meanwhile, H.R.G. and Matt are shocked when Suresh's tracking system is revealed.
Episode 23: How To Stop An Exploding Man

As Issac's predictions begin to unfold, the heroes each face their most harrowing moments as their paths collide in Kirby Plaza. But as one volume of Heroes ends, another surprising volume begins.
